Annoying People
Since
the dawn of time, people have found amusement at the expense of others. For
example, the ancient Romans used to watch prisoners kill each other for fun; they
enjoyed watching others suffer. Annoying people is similar in this regard, but
it involves less murder. For example, I have friends who like to jam their own
lockers so they don’t have to put in their combinations to open them. Because
of this, they don’t know their own locker combinations. After wrestling
practice one night, I removed the slips of paper that they use to jam the lock.
You could imagine my immense joy upon hearing that the next morning I had made
every single one of them late for their first period class. Was it immature?
Yes. Was it a malicious and unnecessary prank? Indubitably. But I enjoyed it,
and that my friends, is all that matters. It takes a special kind of person to
find enjoyment in the suffering of others…namely, a sadistic one. However, I
think that there is no problem
with some harmless pranking, as long as no one gets hurt, it can be a great way
to spend time. Speaking of irritation, there is an entire video series about it
by one of my favorite comedians: John Cleese.
